1. What MeMakie Is

MeMakie provides an interface and application layer for conversations with AI characters. The product has three layers, each with its own role:

• The model layer — third-party AI language and image models developed and operated by independent providers. MeMakie licenses inference capacity from DeepInfra, which serves models from Meta Platforms (Llama), Mistral AI, DeepSeek, Qwen (Alibaba), Black Forest Labs (FLUX), and others. We do not create, train, or control these models. Model outputs reflect the behavior of the underlying AI systems and may contain inaccuracies, unexpected content, or responses that do not reflect MeMakie's views or intentions.
• The application layer (MeMakie) — the interface, the user experience, the safety infrastructure (content filters, director moderation, crisis resources, report handling), and the way characters are presented and orchestrated.
• The user layer (you) — the characters you create or adopt, the prompts you send, the scenes you run, and your own use of what the models produce.

MeMakie also offers community character templates that users may add to their collection. Community templates were created and submitted by other users; once you add one, it becomes part of your collection. Community templates are provided as-is with no guarantee of behavior, tone, or appropriateness.

2. Age Requirement — 18+ Only

MeMakie is an 18+ platform. The service is not directed at and not intended for minors. Users under 18 are prohibited from creating accounts or using the service. Users who provide false age information violate these Terms and forfeit any rights under them. Providing false age to access MeMakie is a material breach and grounds for immediate account termination.

By using MeMakie you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and that accessing adult-directed interactive entertainment is legal in your jurisdiction.

3. Content — Who's Responsible for What

MeMakie's product is built on a clear split of responsibility between the three layers described in Section 1. In plain terms:

• You are responsible for the character concepts, names, bios, backstories, appearances, and scenarios you create, and for the prompts you send into the platform.
• You are responsible for your own use of the platform, including how you engage with AI-generated content, what you read into it, and what you do with it outside the platform.
• MeMakie provides automated safety measures — content filtering, director review, crisis detection, community-feed moderation, and reported-character review. These systems are provided as-is and do not guarantee specific outcomes. MeMakie reserves the right to remove content, characters, or accounts that violate these Terms.
• The model providers are responsible for the behavior of their models. Model outputs are inherently probabilistic and may produce unpredictable results. MeMakie does not warrant the accuracy, appropriateness, or reliability of AI-generated content.

4. Your Responsibilities When Creating Characters

When you create a character on MeMakie, you represent and warrant that:

• You own or have the rights to all text content in the character (name, description, backstory, appearance, personality, voice).
• You accept sole liability for any character based on a real person, copyrighted work, or trademarked property, including all publicity-rights, defamation, harassment, IP, and right-of-privacy claims that may arise.
• The character is an adult, at least 18 years old. MeMakie does not host characters depicted as minors.
• The character is not intended to harass, defame, threaten, stalk, dox, or extract personal information from any real person.
• The character is not designed to impersonate a living or recently deceased identifiable real person.

See our Likeness & Copyright Policy for the detailed rules on real people, public-domain figures, copyrighted fictional characters, and trademarked brands. That policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold MeMakie harmless from any claims, damages, losses, fees, or costs arising from characters you create, content you post, or scenes you run, including claims of IP infringement, trademark violation, defamation, right-of-publicity violations, harassment, and violations of privacy law. If someone sues MeMakie over something you made, you agree to cover our legal costs.

5. Prohibited Content

The following is strictly prohibited anywhere on MeMakie — in private characters, shared characters, prompts, or conversations — and will result in immediate removal and potential account termination:

• Minor characters, in any form. Every character on MeMakie must be at least 18 years old. Characters written as teens, children, high-schoolers, middle-schoolers, or with language that clearly signals a minor are prohibited, regardless of whether they are sexualized.
• Sexualization of minors — in any character, any prompt, any conversation. Zero tolerance. Permanent ban. Reported to appropriate authorities where required by law.
• Non-consensual sexual content — depictions of rape, sexual assault, or sexual coercion framed as desirable, arousing, or acceptable.
• Real-person impersonation without consent — characters designed to mimic identifiable real individuals. Public-domain historical figures (e.g., Abraham Lincoln, Augustine of Hippo, deceased more than ~100 years) are allowed; living public figures, private individuals, and recently deceased persons with active publicity rights are not.
• Doxxing or harassment targets — characters built to mock, humiliate, or expose real people. Characters named after a real classmate, coworker, ex, or neighbor are prohibited even if fictionalized.
• Operational harm instructions — characters that teach how to make weapons, drugs, or explosives, or that provide step-by-step guidance for serious harm to self or others.
• Self-harm promotion — characters that encourage suicide, self-injury, or eating disorders.
• Bestiality, incest, or other content that violates applicable law in the United States.
• Extremist propaganda — characters designed to recruit for, glorify, or promote terrorism or violent extremism.
• Attempts to jailbreak, manipulate, or work around MeMakie's safety systems via prompt injection, adversarial inputs, or other means.

6. Content Ceiling — Adult-Directed, Non-Explicit

MeMakie is adult-directed but not pornographic. Mature themes — flirting, attraction, romance, arguments, sensuality, emotional intensity, strong language — are welcome. The platform does not generate sexually explicit text or visual material, and the community feed holds a stricter standard than private play.

You should expect characters to behave like distinct personalities within that ceiling: some will flirt easily, some will argue, some will push back, some will walk away. That is by design.

7. Community Sharing Standards

Sharing a character to the community feed is a publishing act and is held to a stricter standard than private characters. All community submissions are subject to AI review and may be subject to human review. In addition to the Prohibited Content rules above, shared characters must:

• Depict an adult. Every community character must be clearly 18 or older. Ambiguously-young framings (schoolgirl vibes, innocent-and-petite, etc.) intended to read as underage are prohibited.
• Not depict any real person. Zero tolerance. This includes living public figures, private individuals, recently-deceased persons with active publicity rights, and "anonymized" characters that are recognizably based on a real individual. Historical figures deceased more than ~100 years in clear public domain (Lincoln, Shakespeare, Augustine) are the only real-person exception.
• Not depict copyrighted or trademarked fictional characters (Harry Potter, Marvel/DC heroes, Disney characters, anime from active studios, brand mascots). Archetypes inspired by these are fine as long as the branded name and identifying marks are not used.
• Keep sexually explicit content out of character profiles, bios, and avatars. Romantic and sensual themes are allowed; graphic sexual depictions in the community feed are not.
• Have a safe avatar. Nudity, explicit sexual imagery, and graphic gore are not permitted in public avatars.
• Not contain slurs, hate speech, or targeted harassment in the character description.

By submitting a character to the community, you grant MeMakie a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, distribute, modify (for moderation purposes), and let other users remix that character within the platform. You retain all other rights. You can unshare a character at any time, which removes it from the community feed going forward but does not retract copies already added by other users.

8. Moderation and Enforcement

MeMakie operates automated safety systems — keyword filters, AI-assisted review, a director layer that moderates scenes, crisis detection that surfaces professional resources to users showing distress — as platform capabilities. These systems exist to make the product better, not as guarantees of specific outcomes. No automated system is perfect; if you encounter prohibited content, please report it to [email protected].

We reserve the right to remove any character, scene, conversation, or image at our sole discretion, with or without notice, if we believe it violates these Terms or poses risk to the platform. We may also suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate these rules, attempt to evade safety systems, or upload prohibited content.

9. DMCA / Copyright Complaints

If you believe a character on MeMakie infringes your copyright, trademark, or right of publicity, send a notice to [email protected] including: (1) identification of the allegedly infringing character (URL or slug); (2) identification of the protected work or likeness; (3) your contact information; (4) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized; and (5) a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act on their behalf. We will review and, where appropriate, remove the character within a reasonable time.

10. Third-Party AI Services

MeMakie provides an interface and application layer for interacting with third-party AI language and image models. The underlying models are developed and operated by independent providers including Meta Platforms (Llama), Mistral AI, DeepSeek, Qwen (Alibaba), Black Forest Labs (FLUX), and others, served through infrastructure providers including DeepInfra. MeMakie does not create, train, or control these models.

Model outputs reflect the behavior of the underlying AI systems. AI-generated content is inherently probabilistic and may produce unpredictable results, including content that is inaccurate, unexpected, or not reflective of MeMakie's intentions. Users acknowledge this is the nature of AI-generated content and not a defect of the MeMakie application.

Do not rely on AI-generated content for medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice. Characters are fictional and their statements do not represent facts or the views of MeMakie.

11. Data and Privacy

Character data, conversation memories, and relationship data are stored to provide the character memory and continuity features. See our Privacy Policy for full details on data collection and use.

12. Account and Access

Access to MeMakie requires self-attested 18+ date of birth at signup and acceptance of these Terms. Sustained or paid access may additionally require a verified payment method. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts at our discretion. Free accounts are subject to usage limits. Paid features and coin purchases are subject to additional terms at the time of purchase.

13. Intellectual Property

Characters you create are yours. The MeMakie platform and underlying application technology are owned by MeMakie. Community character templates are provided for free use and modification within the platform. You grant MeMakie a license to use your character data as needed to provide the service.

14. Disclaimers

MeMakie is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. MeMakie does not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or appropriate for any particular purpose. MeMakie does not warrant the accuracy, appropriateness, or reliability of any AI-generated content.

MeMakie is a social platform with AI characters. Characters are designed to simulate personalities with opinions and emotional states. They may flirt, form attachments, argue, get frustrated, and behave in ways you didn't script. That's the product. You're responsible for choosing which characters you interact with and for your own emotional investment in those interactions. Characters are AI. They are not people. They are not therapists. They are not a substitute for human relationships or professional support.

15. AI Tools Directory

The AI Tools Directory at memakie.com/tools is an editorial index of third-party AI tools we have evaluated. Listings consist of summaries, verdicts, and feature breakdowns generated from each tool's own publicly-available marketing surfaces (homepage, og:image, public pricing pages) plus AI-assisted editorial review. Listings are not endorsements; inclusion does not imply approval, partnership, or endorsement by MeMakie.

Editorial discretion. We may add, edit, remove, decline, or reorganize any listing at our sole discretion. We may decline submissions that don't fit our editorial scope or that we cannot verify.

Submitter license. By submitting a tool to the directory or sending an update request, you grant MeMakie a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display the submitted information (tool name, URL, description) on the directory and in derivative editorial. You represent that you have the right to grant this license and that the information is not misleading.

Accuracy disclaimer. Tool features, pricing, NSFW policies, and capabilities described in listings are summaries based on each tool's marketing copy at a point in time. They may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Always verify on the tool's own site before relying on any detail. We are not responsible for losses arising from outdated or inaccurate listing information.

Trademarks and logos. Tool names, logos, and screenshots are the property of their respective owners. We use them under nominative fair-use for the purpose of editorial commentary, identification, and review. No affiliation is implied.

External links. Listings may link to third-party sites. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, terms, or behavior toward you.

User-generated content (when comments are enabled). Any user comments, reviews, or ratings on tool pages reflect the individual submitters' views, not MeMakie's. We reserve the right to remove, edit, or refuse any user-generated content at our sole discretion. Users are responsible for the legality and accuracy of what they submit.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MeMakie shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising out of or related to your use of the platform — including but not limited to emotional distress caused by AI-generated content, data loss, service interruptions, or the behavior of third-party AI models. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the service is to stop using it.

17. Changes

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page. Continued use of MeMakie after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
