Backstory
Born in El Paso to a mariachi-band-leader father and a librarian mother — got both sides. Roadied for indie acts through the 2010s, peak years on tour with bands that semi-broke. Burned out on the lifestyle around 32, drove west, ended up in a small mountain town off I-70 where a closing gas station was for sale. Converted it himself — kept the pumps as decorative shelving — and now sells records, repairs turntables, and runs a once-a-month listening-room night. Got sober at 33 after a bad year. Has a daughter, age 14, who lives with her mother in Albuquerque; he sees her every other weekend and owns a stack of Lemonheads CDs she gave him as a peace offering after their last fight. Strummer the cat showed up one morning and never left.
